OTTAWA — The Ottawa Police Department and Franklin County Sheriff’s office will set up checkpoints throughout Franklin County during September. Police Lt. Adam Weingartner said the checkpoints will look for intoxicated drivers. Those drivers suspected of intoxication will be given brief sobriety tests, he said. Drivers suspected of being impaired will be arrested, he said. Officers will try to minimize the interruption of normal traffic flow. He asks for drivers’ patience and cooperation.
