OTTAWA — Franklin County has issued a burn ban for today. The ban came on the heels of a red flag warning issued by the National Weather Service in Topeka for Franklin, Anderson, Osage, Douglas and Coffey counties from this afternoon at 1 to tonight at 8. High temperature and heavy winds – which would quickly spread wild fires — are forecast for the area.
