WICHITA — A Wichita-based bioenergy group is seeking proposals for biomass. The Kansas Alliance for Biorefining and Bioenergy is calling for request for converting crops into biomass to be used for energy production. One proposal is for converting plant residues into chemicals or liquid fuels. The second looks for ways to use non-oxygen digestion processes to reduce the carbon footprint of existing ethanol plants. The third seeks a process that uses algae to change fermenter carbon dioxide at ethanol plants into starch. The deadline is Sept. 23.
