LAWRENCE — As the 10th anniversary of 9/11 approaches this weekend, a University of Kansas school of law professor will talk about Islamic law Wednesday afternoon. Raj Bhala’s speech entitled “Understanding Islamic Law” will be Wednesday at 3:30 in the conference hall at the Hall Center for the Humanities. The event is free and open to the public. He’s written a new book called, “Understanding Islamic Law,” which covers the history and religion of Islam and how it’s practiced by modern day religious figures officials. He’ll also offer some suggestions on how America can deal with the Islamic world.
