OTTAWA — Two Lawrence men were injured when their car bounced off a semi-truck Monday afternoon on I-35 near Eisenhower Road. Doroteo Guzman, 29, was taken to Overland Park Regional Hospital and Vicario Antonio-Amador, 22, was taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa. John Keith Stanley, 53, High Island, Texas; was driving his truck north on I-35 and was in the passing lane to pass a slower-moving semi-truck, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Guzman was also going north and was in the driving lane and came up behind the slower-moving semi, the highway patrol said. Guzman quickly changed lanes to pass it but struck Stanley’s truck on the right front corner instead, the highway patrol said. Guzman lost control of his car and it skidded off of the road and rolled several times in the northbound ditch and came to rest on its top. The extent of their injuries wasn’t immediately known. Stanley and a passenger weren’t injured.
