GARNETT — Five new members of the Allen County Community College basketball team got more than new clothes on their recent shopping trip to Kansas City. They got busted in Anderson County for smoking pot. The Anderson County Review reported that a deputy stopped their car near Greeley because the driver didn’t dim his headlights for oncoming traffic. The deputy smelled marijuana and a search turned up small amounts of weed. Anderson County Attorney Fred Campbell said that because no one would say who the pot belonged to, all of the people in the car were charged. Christopher Laveist, Thomas Daniel, Terrell Shears, Canon Fields and Christopher Parker face court hearings later this month and next month.
