OTTAWA — A former assistant attorney general will be temping for Franklin County.
County administrator Lisa Johnson, who also serves as the county commissioners’ attorney, asked commissioners last week to hire another attorney because of a pending lawsuit involving a county employee. Johnson said her involvement could be a conflict of interest. The county’s insurance company, K-Camp, recommended that the county hire Kevin Case, she said. Case, who was an assistant to Bob Stephan and Carla Stovall, says he has experience in handling cases involving public bodies. Case agreed to a rate of $100 to $125 an hour, which is the prevailing wage for area attorneys.. He met with the commissioners an hour Wednesday about the matter involving an employee.
