OTTAWA — The Franklin County commissioners followed through on a deal they made with the Franklin County Historical Society. After making a big cut in the historical society’s budget for next year, commissioners said they would pay off the remaining $25,000 loan on the Old Depot Museum. They voted to do that at their meeting last week. The historical society got the loan more than 10 years ago to match a federal grant to renovate the Santa Fe depot into a museum. Paying off the loan will save the historical society $3,600 a year.
