OSAGE CITY — The Kansas Department of Transportation will host a public open house about a proposed roundabout at U.S. 75 and K-31/K-268 north of Lyndon. The public is invited to stop by any time during the come-and-go open house anytime between 5 and 7 Oct. 17 at the Osage County Fairgrounds community center in Osage City. There will be no formal presentations. The open house will include displays, an overview map of the project, construction schedule, and potential traffic effects. KDOT staff and consultants will be on hand to answer questions about the project. The roundabout will replace the existing intersection. Also, included with the project is construction for a new park-and-ride lot near the intersection. Construction is scheduled to begin next spring with completion in summer 2013. Public meeting handouts and additional information about these projects will be available online after the public open house at http://www.ksdot.org/topekametro/projectstudyneks.asp. KDOT will also present information on a future K-31 T-Works improvement project between U.S. 75 and Osage City. K-31 will be reconstructed from the east city limits of Osage city east to the U.S. 75, including adding shoulders and flattening the hills. Find out more about this and other T-Works projects at: http://kdotapp.ksdot.org/tworks/.
