QUENEMO — A Quenemo man who was injured when a deer hit his motorcycle Aug. 20 on Rattlesnake Corner on K-68 west of Pomona is slowly recovering. While he was recovering from his injuries, Allen Zielsdorf, the frozen meat department manager of Ottawa Country Mart, suffered a massive stroke three weeks later, said his wife Kelly, who is a checker at Country Mart. She said she believes that the accident contributed to the stroke. He’s slowly re-learning to walk and is regaining his speech, she said. She said his recovery would have been more difficult without the support of friends, co-workers and the community, she said. He’ll be at Mid-America Rehabilitation Center until November, she said.
