LAWRENCE — A former Kansas University student from Baldwin City will one of the contestants in tonight’s first-ever story slam at KU’s Woodruff Auditorium in the Student Union. Maggie Beedles left KU to work at local non-profits with a focus on children. She is now a mother, a midwifery student, and co-owner of Feaster’s Bistro in Baldwin City. At the story slam, storytellers will talk about their volunteer experience with KU’s Alternative Breaks and or the Center for Community Outreach. The storm slam is tonight at 7:30. A reception with food and drink will follow in the Big 12 Room. The story slam is free and open to the public.
