OSAWATOMIE — The 18th annual Christmas in October is Saturday in Osawatomie. Volunteers working this year should meet at the Osawatomie High School cafeteria saturday morning at 7:30. Last year, more than 75 people took part in the event that helps Osawatomie homeowners who need home repairs like painting, yard work and other projects done. Organizer Diana Neal told the Osawatomie Journal that there are five projects this year and a lot of painting will be done. There is still time to volunteer, she said. And if volunteers were to bring painting supplies like brushes and pans, it would be even better, she added. In the unlikely case of rain, Christmas in October will be rescheduled for the following Saturday.
