TOPEKA — The second annual Kansas Ancestor Fair, will be 10 to 3 Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Kansas Historical Society in Topeka. The free event is held in celebration of Family History Month and will feature information, displays, and seminars designed to encourage interest in family history. Seminars include a presentation by ancestry.com, how to get started with making a family history , displaying of ancestor photos, and opportunities to meet preservation and family history experts. A food vendor will be on the grounds during the event. The public is invited to submit copies of their ancestor photos for display by mailing them in advance to the Kansas Historical Society, Attn: Sara Keckeisen, 6425 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Ks 66615, or by bringing them to the Kansas Historical Society state archives & library reference room by Oct. 6.
