BUSH CITY — A one-car accident took the life on a Kincaid teenager Saturday evening. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Braden Hunt of Kincaid struck a pole while he was driving eastbound on 1400 Road just east of Oregon Road approximately three miles south of Garnett around 6:20 p.m. Saturday. A junior, Hunt was a member of the Anderson County High School football team. According to team members, the team will wear his number in future games. There was a passenger in the vehicle, Hannah Nicole Steele, 15, Garnett. Steele was transported to Anderson County Hospital in Garnett for treatment of injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts, the highway patrol said. A crisis team was scheduled to be at the high school today to be available for students.
