BURLINGAME — A 23-year-old Burlingame man was burned Sunday night when his barbeque grill exploded. The Osage County Sheriff’s department said the man used a gasoline-like fluid to try to start the grill when it exploded. He was taken to Stormont-Vail Medical Center in Topeka. The sheriff’s department didn’t identify the man, pending notification of his family. No one was at home when the explosion occurred in the 100 block of East Lincoln. Burlingame firefighters and neighbors put out the fire caused by the explosion. The sheriff’s department said the house was damaged by the explosion and fire but didn’t have an immediate estimate of damage.
