ROSSVILLE — The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism has confirmed that what a Rossville woman saw on her early-morning walk Friday was indeed a mountain lion. The Topeka Capital-Journal reported that the woman called Rossville police to tell them she saw what she thought was a mountain lion on the south edge of Rossville. Rossville is about 30 miles northwest of Topeka. A game ranger identified that paw prints found where the woman saw the cat were made by a mountain lion. It was the second big cat sighting in recent weeks in that area. A farmer in western Shawnee County also reported to seeing a mountain lion.
