BURLINGTON — Coffey Health System chief executive officer Dennis George has resigned George has accepted a new post as CEO for Associated Purchasing Services based in Kansas City. George, oOttawa, has been CEO of the Burlington-based health care agency for 20 years. Hospital trustees formally accepted his resignation this week. George’s last day will be Oct. 31. The board appointed chief financial officer Karen Smith to serve as interim CEO effective Nov. 1. The board will appoint a search committee Oct.17 to find a successor.
