OTTAWA – A citizen defended County Clerk Shari Perry during Wednesday’s county commission meeting. At an earlier meeting, commissioners ordered Perry not to talk to employees of the Franklin County Ambulance Wervice except in writing and sent through county administrator Lisa Johnson.
Gene Hirt, Williamsburg, told commissioners that the order prevented her from doing those duties she’s required by state law to do and that the order wasn’t right. At one point, he was cut off by commission chairEd Taylor, who told him that commissioners couldn’t discuss it because it was a personnel matter.
