FAIRWAY – The Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site’s 25th annual fall festival will be Saturday and Sunday. The free event features crafts, entertainment and food; and a special commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Kansas statehood. Highlights include history re-enactors and mountain men, American Indian dancers, spinners, weavers, blacksmith, storytellers, traditional craftsmen, pony rides, tipis, food and a quilt show. Entertainment includes the historic drama, “Citizens of Our Cemetery,” and a handbell performance by Heartland Bell Ringers. There will also be a campfire with music and storytelling 7 p.m. Saturday.
