OTTAWA — A fire at an apartment house in the 200 block of West Fifth caused about $2,000 in damage Sunday afternoon. The fire started on the front porch and traveled up a column up to the underside of the attic and roof, said assistant fire chief Richard Oglesby. Ottawa firefighters stopped the fire before it got into the attic, he said. There were no injuries, he said. There was no immediate cause established for the fire, he said.
