KANSAS CITY — A nationally-known private investigator from New York is now helping the Irwin family search for the missing 10-month-old Lisa Irwin. “Wild Bill” Stanton told reporters in Kansas City he’ll conduct an independent investigation to try to locate the baby, whom the family says was kidnapped from her bedroom a week ago. “While I know law enforcement and the FBI won’t necessarily give me information, I will be more than happy to cooperate with anything I find or my team,” Stanton said. “I’m here to seek the truth and wherever that truth takes me, that’s where I’m gonna go.” While Stanton was surrounded by family members, the baby’s parents weren’t there. Acting on a tip, detectives and firefighters were over at an abandoned house about five blocks away from baby Lisa’s house, in the backyard and digging deep into a largely unknown well to try to see if there was any sort of new evidence or if they could find the baby’s body. They looked into the well, hoisted firefighters into the well and drained but found nothing.
