OTTAWA — City meter reader Janet Stewart has been given the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce’s Community Image Award. She received the award Wednesday at the chamber’s quarterly meeting. City officials noted that Stewart has a good rapport with utility customers and is often helping out. The nomination form said Stewart often quietly offers a helping hand to people – most recent examples include her offering water to a mail carrier and a Popsicle to a telephone line installer during hot days and bringing special energy-saving light bulbs and paperwork for an elderly customer who couldn’t get to city hall..
