GARNETT — Garnett police are investigating a recent series of burglaries to churches and businesses in Garnett along heavily-traveled streets. The Anderson County Review reported two neighboring churches on Park Road – the Church of the Nazarene and the First Assembly of God were burglarized. The Church of the Nazarene reported the theft of a pop machine valued at $100 and about $100 in change, the Review reported. The First Assembly of God reported damage to a metal door and wood door frame. The damage was valued at $100. The Graham School for Cattlemen on K-31 also reported a burglary. Nothing was reported stolen but a door and door knob and interior items were damaged. Lybarger Oil on U.S. 59 also reported burglary. Burglars stole $160 and a Ford Taurus valued at $450.
