KANSAS CITY — The Grinter Place State Historic Site in Kansas City, Kan., will host “Legends Around the Campfire,” 4 to 8 Saturday evening. Families can do crafts, carve pumpkins, and play games from 4 to 6, take a guided history walk along a trail featuring historical Kansas characters from 5 to 7, and hear stories and American Indian folklore around the campfire from 6 to 8. The event is free, but regular admission applies for tours of the Grinter House — admission is $3 adults, $1 for students, and children five and under are free. Children are encouraged to bring a bag for collecting candy. The Grinter Place is at the intersection of 78th Street and K-32 in Kansas City.
