OTTAWA — The Kurt and Clara Weigand Family Trust have given a gift to the proposed Ottawa YMCA. Although most of the Weigands no longer live in Ottawa anymore, they still value the community they grew up in and wanted to honor their parents, said Ottawa Community Partnership president John Coen. Although the exact amount of the donation isn’t being disclosed, Coen said the gift is large. Son Tom Weigand, who is president of the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce said his parents had a strong sense of community and a Biblical sense of leading by example. coen says the gift is large.
