GREAT LAKES, Ill. — A Navy seaman from Garnett recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at the Navy’s Great Lakes Training Center. Franklin Cockrell completed an eight-week training program of naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety, as well as physical fitness. He graduated from Anderson County High School in May.
