PAOLA — Charges against a Greeley woman involved in a fatal wreck earlier this year have been dismissed. Miami County Attorney David Miller told the Miami County Republic that he reserves the right to refile the charges later against Denise Holloman. She was charged with involuntary manslaughter and endangerment of a child in a fatal wreck during a winter storm Feb. 24 that killed two people in southwest Miami County. Holloman, 59, had pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial, which was scheduled for next week. Instead, the trial was canceled, and the case was dismissed. Holloman was driving south on U.S.169 in icy conditions when her car crossed the center line and collided head-on with a car driven by 66-year-old Mary Stussy of Wisconsin. Stussy was killed, as was Holloman’s one-year-old grandson. Four others were injured. None of the passengers in Holloman’s car were secured with safety belts or child restraints. The wreck took place just a few minutes after another fatal accident in the same area.
