OTTAWA — Franklin County has issued a burn ban for today. The area has seen a combination of high winds, unusually high temperatures and low humidity. The National Weather Service said winds will range from 20 to 30 miles an hour today, with gusts above 40 miles an hour. Winds will slacken this afternoon with gusts to remain high. The weather services said the fire danger index is elevated for Miami and Linn counties.
