OTTAWA — American Eagle Outfitters is donating $100,000 to the Ottawa YMCA project . American Eagle Outfitters’ donation shows they know a YMCA is feasble and will work out well in Ottawa, said Ed York, chairman of the lead gifts team for Ottawa Community Partnership, which is spearheading the fundraising drive. American Eagle Outfitters Foundation’s Marcie Eberhart saids the proposed Y will bring wonderful benefits to Ottawa and improve the quality of life. York says the fundraising campaign is building a strong foundation of large lead gifts and will soon begin an aggressive public drive for more donations. If fundraising efforts continue as planned, construction on the new Y could begin in 2013, Ottawa Community Ppartnership president John Coen said. American Eagle Outfitters distribution center serves many of its U.S. retail stores and international on-line buyers.
