TOPEKA- Ottawa may not have won the Kansas Take Charge Challenge, but the efforts it made contributed to a statewide accomplishment. Of the 16 communities that participated in the challenge, the total annual value of electricity saved amounted to over 2 million dollars. “The things that we were able to do, with a little bit of money and a little community outreach, made a significant difference, not only in our houses and our communities, but really our planet,” City Administrative Assistant Leslie Quillen said.
