ARDNER — A 68-year-old Iola man was killed Sunday afternoon when his car ran a red light and hit the back of a pickup near Gardner. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Curtis Lawrence was driving north on U.S. 169 when he ran a traffic light at 199th Street. Troopers said the driver of the pickup, Arthur Jensen, 82, Olathe, reported a probable injury but wasn’t hospitalized. Both men were wearing seat belts.
