MARYSVILLE — A Kansas author who wrote a biography of the legendary Sioux Lakota war chief Crazy Horse will talk about his book at the Pawnee Indian Museum State Historic Site near Republic. Cleve Walstrom, Marysville, will present “Search For the Lost Trail of Crazy Horse” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13. Before he was murdered by the U.S. Army, Crazy Horse figured in nearly every major defeat of the army in the northern Great Plains, including wiping out Gen. George Armstrong Custer’s command at the Little Big Horn River in Montana. Refreshments will be served. Regular admission fee to the historic site applies, $3 for adults, $1 for students. Kansas Historical Foundation members and children five and under will be admitted free. The Pawnee Indian Museum chronicles the Pawnee Nation, which was the dominant power of the central plains for hundreds of years and a frequent enemy of the Lakota.
