OTTAWA — A long-running annexation dispute will likely end tonight at the Ottawa City Commission meeting at 7 p.m. at city hall. For about four months, the city has tried to annex land owned by Mark Shay. Shay fought the annexation, saying that he would have to shut down his wholesale fireworks business, which are banned by city zoning regulations. At the last city meeting, the city and Shea agreed to a deal that delays the annexation for five years unless certain situations occur. The site is just south of the new Love’s Travel Center on the south side of the city.
