OTTAWA-The idea of bringing a YMCA to Ottawa is exciting, but the public has concerns about existing programs and facilities, such as the new ORC Goppert Building. Kansas State Bank Loan Officer John Coen said the YMCA is looking to work “hand and glove” with existing programs.
“We’re not going to reinvent the wheel, we’re going to use all opportunities that are already in Ottawa and work with them to provide and augment programming,” Coen said. “We’re not looking to put anybody out of business and we will invite anybody to work with the YMCA programming so that we are providing for Ottawa citizens a well rounded wellness / better living opportunity.”
