GARNETT — A change of seasons brought a change to the area’s unemployment picture, with rates falling back to similar levels as a year ago after several months of disappointing job news. The Anderson County Review reported Anderson County’s unemployment rate was lower in September, a reversal from most of the summer. Anderson County unemployment dropped to 7.4 percent in September from August’s rate of 8.2 percent.
The Kansas Department of Labor’s Sue Henke saids the state’s employment rate is reviving. The state’s jobless rate dropped to 6.6 percent from 6.9 percent, she said.
