OTTAWA — County commissioners agreed last week to allow Central Heights schools put an antenna and repeater on the county’s southeast tower as part of the county’s changes to its radio network. County emergency management director Alan Radcliffe said he has no objection to allow public groups use the county’s towers as long as space is available. Because of federal regulation changes, Central Heights needs to switch to narrow-band radio frequencies, he said. Putting up the antenna will improve bus communications and student safety, he said. Radcliffe said he expects to get a similar request from West Franklin schools for the Appanoose tower.
