TOPEKA — The 36th American Cancer Society “Great American Smokeout” is Thursday. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said it’s ready to help tobacco users who are ready to quit. The KDHE offers support and information for quitting on-line at www.quitnow.net/kansas or call toll-free at 1-800-QUIT-NOW. KDHE secretary Robert Moser said thousands of smokers across the country will start kicking their nicotine habit Thursday. Quitting tobacco takes work, but creating a plan with your doctor and getting support from the Kansas Tobacco Quitline can make the process easier and increase your chances of success, he said.
