LAWRENCE — A blogger involved in the collapse in the Soviet Union will be the final speaker in the Dole Institute of Politics’ series “The Fall of the Soviet Union: 20 Years Later.” Women’s and youth activist Arzu Geybullayeva will speak on the future of the post-Soviet region She’ll talk about the key role youth activists played in the color revolutions that shook many former Soviet republics. She is one of the few English-language bloggers writing about Azerbaijan, one of the former Soviet republics.
She has been involved in using social media to defuse tensions between Azerbaijan and another former Soviet republic, Armenia, next door. Her program will be Monday night at 7:30 at the Dole Institute at Kansas University in Kawrence. The program is free and open to the public.
