OVERLAND PARK – Gov. Sam Brownback didn’t find one tweet by a Shawnee Mission High East high school student so sweet. The Kansas City Star reporteds that when Emma Sullivan’s government class visited Topeka this week, they also met Brownback. The teenager wasn’t impressed and used Twitter to say that Brownback “blows a lot” after meeting him in person. She later called the tweet a joke. But Brownback’s office wasn’t laughing. His office monitors social media for postings containing the governor’s name and the governor’s communications director complained to the school. Sullivan told the Star she was hauled to the principal’s office and ordered to write an apology. For her part, Sullivan says she doesn’t regret sending the tweet. She added the incident hasn’t won Brownback any new votes among her friends.
