OTTAWA–While there is a lot of discussion and debate as to whether the country may go back into recession–at least here in Ottawa, things are looking up. At yesterday’s study session, the Ottawa City Commission heard a report that indicates that sales tax receipts have increased the last 3 months–and they are over 3 % up from this time a year ago. Ottawa Finance Director Scott Bird says that Ottawa businesses are definitely seeing more customers.
