PANHANDLE TEXAS–A Wellsville man is charged with murder in connection with a road rage incident that happened last week in the Texas Panhandle about 40 miles east of Amarillo. Authorities say a week ago Monday, a pickup driven by 81 year old William G. Frankln of Wellsville Kansas apparently sideswiped a car driven by 65 year old William Thompson Nardin of Saint Louis. After the sideswipe, Nardin, accompanied by his wife, drove the rental car to a convenience store parking lot in Groom Texas where they spotted Franklin’s vehicle. Nardin got out of his car and approached Franklin and talked with him for a few moments. Franklin then apparently fired several shots at Nardin, striking him in the chest. He apparently died instantly. A .38 revolver was recovered by police.
