GARNETT — The Garnett Business and Professional Women is accepting nominations for woman and business of the year. The committee members are looking for a woman who gives back to the community through volunteer work and who exemplifies the title woman of the year. As for the business of the year, committee members are looking for all sizes of businesses in the community that employ women and or are owned or managed by women. The committee will look at the percentage of women in the business and evaluate how the business allows the women to advance and learn and the benefits provided to these employees. Nominations are due by Dec. 14 and should be mailed to the Garnett BPW at P.O. Box 97, Garnett, KS 66032. Along with the nomination, include an explanation why the woman and or business who are nominated should win the honors.
