OTTAWA — Ottawa’s Youth in Government has elected officers for the year. Ottawa High School senior Jordan Gray is mayor. Sophomore Alex Reed is mayor pro-tem. Middle school 8th grader Abagael Pruitt is clerk. Senior Danon Taylor is project manager. Students who were appointed to specific boards include: Gray and Ciera Gardner to the Ottawa City Commission; Taylor, Communities in Schools; Brooke Sage and Pruitt, Ottawa Recreation Commission; Alex Reed, Ottawa Library board. Youth in Government director Lisa Rivers said there are openings for four additional youth members.
