HUTCHINSON — A tea party group in Hutchinson is unrepentant about its attempt at humor at Pres. Barack Obama’s expense. The leader of a civil rights group calls the Patriot Freedom Alliance racist. The tea party group says on its Web site that like the president, the skunk is “half black, half white, and almost everything it does stinks.” The president of the Hutchinson chapter of the NAACP Darrell Pope told the Hutchinson News that he found no humor in the depiction, which he calls blatant racism. Local tea party supporter Chuck Sankey said former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has been the target of worse insults.
