OTTAWA-After 23 years of service with the Ottawa Police Department, Officer Rick Howard is throwing in the towel. Howard has spent the last 11 years working as the School Resource Officer for the Ottawa School District. He says retirement will prove to be an adjustment, but it will be hard to adjusting to being away from the people he sees on a day-to-day basis.
“All the people I work with between the school and the department. You know I make a lot of friends,” Howard said. “I’m going to miss a lot of those people”.
A reception for Officer Howard will be held Monday afternoon from 3:30 –5:00 in the Ottawa High School library. The public is invited to attend.
