TOPEKA — A Wellsville native has been named acting Kansas transportation secretary.
Gov. Sam Brownback has named Barb Rankin to succeed Deb Miller as head of the transportation agency. Rankin, who now lives in Topeka, joined KDOT in June. Since then, she took part in the T-Works roll-out, the agency’s re-evaluation of its cable-median barrier policy and the expansion of KDOT’s use of social media. She came to KDOT after a long career in the banking and financial services sectors. She said she’s committed to delivering projects as promised under the 2010 T-Works transportation program.
