OTTAWA – If you’re are having trouble paying your property taxes, give County Treasurer Debbie Hough a call. She says you have several options that can help. Hough said she can approve arrangements that will let taxpayers stretch out their payments. In addition, the homestead property tax program can cut property taxes by up to 70 percent for qualified seniors or those with low-income, but many aren’t aware of that program. They can also apply for a homestead sales tax program after the first of the year.
