OTTAWA – An Ottawa woman has pleaded no contest to three misdemeanor charges in connection with the freak accident that killed her four-year-old son in March. Tammy Lynn Payne pleaded no contest to two counts of child endangerment and one count of DUI with a prior conviction Monday in Franklin County District Court. Her son, Alex Russle Bowles-Gregg died March 12 when a parked vehicle rolled down the driveway at 1040 S. Cottonwood and hit him. The accident happened moments after Payne returned home. Sentencing will be Feb. 22.
