EUDORA — A 32-year-old Eudora man is charged with failing to register as a sex offender as required by federal law. Gustave Wilhelm Brune is charged with failing to register by Nov. 30 in Douglas County. U.S. District Attorney Barry Grissom said that 10 years ago, Brune was convicted in U.S. District Court in Kansas City on a charge of possessing pornography and was ordered to serve a 27-month prison sentence. If convicted, he could face up to another 10 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.
