KANSAS CITY — A 39-year-old Raytown, Mo., man has been charged in federal court with unlawful possession of a firearm after a felony conviction. Christopher Allen Cook is charged in connection with a home invasion and an armed standoff that occurred Sept. 19 in southeastern Miami County. In the incident, an armed man went into a barn near New Lancaster and then later forced his way into the nearby house, trapping three people. As officers surrounded the house, the man fled and raced into woods west of the house, where he was captured. If convicted, Cook faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.
